"Monchhichi" is a cute stuffed toy with a pacifier and freckles, released by Sekiguchi in 1974. Its innovative and adorable design, with a stuffed toy body and soft vinyl face and limbs, caused an explosive boom upon its release. The following year, Monchhichi began exporting overseas, becoming a worldwide hit.
Sales were suspended outside of Paris in 1985, but due to popular demand, it was relaunched in 1996. While evolving with the times, Monchhichi has sold over 70 million units in over 30 countries since its 1974 release.
